Billy and Eco save The Big Wood

The building firm, where Billy’s Dad works, is about to begin clearing the wood to build a fun park, Eco lives in an Eco house with her parents in the wood and is friends with the animals, Eco (on her re-cycle) introduces Billy to the animals who are scared and worried about losing their homes. The main animals are: Nutmeg, a red squirrel, Wyzold, a Barn Owl, Hazel, a hazel dormouse and Mr Snuffles a hedgehog – four main animals needing protection due to habitat loss and fragmentation in the UK.

This is the first in a series of missions undertaken by Billy and Eco introducing young readers to environmental and conservation subjects such as endangered species and habitat destruction, pollution and climate change, wildlife regeneration and rewilding.
