The physical shop
You don't have the book I want?
You can request the book and we will find it! Either call the shop, drop in, or use the contact page.
Do you buy second hand books?
Currently we don't have the capacity to buy books second hand. We may offer this as a service in the future and if we do, we will let everyone know through our newsletter..
I'm local, can I buy online and collect it from the shop?
Absolutely! It would be great to meet you and chat about books!
I'm a local author...
We would love to meet you and chat! You can visit the shop in opening hours, or if you want to talk to us on a specific matter, we can arrange to meet.
Please remember though that if the shop is busy, it may be better to arrange a time so that we can be completely in the room with you!
All things shipping
How long will it take to arrive?
For UK shipping, depending on the service you choose at the checkout, it can take up to four days to get to you. This is also dependant on other factors that may slow delivery down. War, pestilence, alien invasions etc.
But we will do our very best to make sure the book gets dispatched within 24 hours for an item in stock.
Don't forget that books that haven't been published will only be dispatched when they are released by the publisher to us.
Multiple Book orders.
If you purchase multiple books in one order, we will ship them all to you at the same time to keep costs and carbon impact down. If one of the books hasn't been released yet, but you want the rest of the books straight away (something we understand), then it may be better to order them separately.
Where do you ship to?
We are currently only shipping int he UK, but we are looking to expand over time. We will always make announcements through our newsletter so if you want to be the first to hear about any changes to shipping please subscribe with us.
Returning an unwanted book.
We care about you and also the book. If you need to return the book to us, please contact us first.
Here are some tips that will make things happen quicker:
- Please read the returns policy before you start the return.
- Make sure you have contacted us first.
- Enclose a copy of your receipt or a note telling us your order number and purchase date.
- Please make sure you pack the book as if you were send it to a loved one as a present that you don't want damaged in transit.
Returning a damaged book.
We care about you and also the book. If you need to return the book to us, please contact us first.
Here are some tips that will make things happen quicker:
- If the book was damaged in transit, take three pictures. The first should be the label on the packaging, the second should be the damaged packaging, and the third should be the damage on the book.
- If you want to return the book because you don't want it. Please make sure you pack the book as if you were send it to a loved one as a present that you don't want damaged in transit.

Can I get work experience or employment at your shop?
We would love to be able to support new starters, but at the current time as we are starting on our own journey. We simply do not have the facilities to support additional people. We hope that one day, as the business grows, we will be able to offer temporary/part-time or even permanent roles. But with the current economic climate we are not in a position to do this.
Book Tokens, Gift vouchers, and Loyalty Card
National Book Tokens - In the Shop
You can now purchase in store, National Book Tokens. These gift cards can be used in store at any bookshop in the UK that takes part in the scheme. You can also redeem the tokens at Into the West.
National Book Tokens - Online
We currently cannot provide either purchase or redemption facility online for National Book Tokens. We hope to have this facility working over the coming months.
Into the West Gift Cards
We are also producing Into the West gift cards that can be purchased and redeemed both online and n our shop. These cards cannot be used in conjunction with National Book Tokens.
Loyalty Card
Loyalty Card
We have a loyalty card that you can pickup in store for use in our shop. For every book transaction (book purchase or multiple book purchases in one transaction) you will get a single stamp on your card. When you collect a full card (9 stamps), you can then trade the card in for a discount on books of £10.
Can I part redeem the loyalty card?
Sadly, we do not have the facility to track part used cards. If the card is to be used, the book purchase must be £10 or more to allow you to redeem the loyalty card.
Can I redeem for cash?
The loyalty card can only be exchanged for £10 purchase credit on books. If you purchase a book that is worth less than £10 pounds no change will be given for the loyalty card. If you purchase a book that is worth more than £10, the credit will be used on the book purchase, and then you can pay the balance in the normal way (cash or card).
Can I use multiple cards in one transaction?
Yes you can use multiple cards in one transaction as long as the total book purchases is more than the total of the loyalty cards.
Local authors and prospective authors
I'm a local author, can you stock my book?
We support local authors and want people to discover your talent. There is a review process before we will take on a book, but we would love you to come into the shop to talk to us.
How do I get paid for my book?
Initially we would take a certain number of books on "Sale or Return" at the shop. The books would be displayed and priced according to what we agreed. At the end of the calendar month, if copies of the book have been sold, we would then pay you the agreed amount for each book. We do require a bank account to pay into and the ability for you to provide an invoice for books sold.
Will you pay for the printing of books that you want from me?
We regret we cannot do this. You will need to provide printed copies of the book for us to sell.
