Into the West is a spirited adventure combining mysticism, social realism, and action/adventure which because of the lovely Irish charm and humour of the little elfin like boys in the film had me laughing and crying at the same time. I've seen Into The West a dozen times at least but I still laugh at the build up to the part where the social worker asks the kid ...
"Aye so yer name's Murphy, but whit's yer first name?"
The Wee fella thinks for a while and with cheeky grins says ...
"Mister ... Mister Murphy!" It's a delightful and hugely funny film. If you think you are too jaded by modern society to enjoy this film, just close your eyes and remember how the world looked when you were 12-years-old. Now climb onto your magic horse and go where it goes - Into The West.
